Though there are lot of small and big sized Vinayaka temples are scattered across the country, but, however only a few temples for Kalyana Vinayaka (Marriage Specialist Vinayaka) are located in the country and one such temple is our Porur, Kalyana Vinayaka Temple. Devotees from all parts of the Chennai City used to visit this excellent Vinayaka temple, in order to get their wishes to be fulfilled, especially for their quick and best marriage proposals! At this present scenario, though everyone wants to get married, but some of us are unable to get married, and even if we get married, sometimes it would end up with big failures! Some of them would even look forward for second and third marriage proposals (after getting legally separated from their life partners). Apart from that, they have to break at least twelve coconuts (Soora Thenkai) in the temple premises, and apart from that poor feeding must also have to be compulsorily done. Twelve Saris along with twelve blouse bits must be offered to twelve poor ladies (inclusive of beggars), and a grand feast must have to be offered to those less fortunate women, and if possible proper employment facilities also must be arranged to them, in order to make them to stand up on their own legs, and by doing that, we would be fondly blessed by Lord Vinayaka.
At this present period, most of us suffer from doshams, and from various family related issues, and finding the reasons for the occurrence would be a difficult one! But however, we can find proper solutions for that, through the help of Lord Vinayaka. Being Lord Vinayaka is the Ulaganayaka(The Universal God), Karunya Sundara(The merciful and beautiful Lord), Shaktiganapati( The most powerful god), he would remarkably tackle our problems!
Those who are unable to visit the Kalyana Ganapathy Temple at Porur, can at least worship from their homes, and that itself would bring a lot of sweetness for them!
