BRAHMA ASHTAKAM

INTRODUCTION

Lord Brahma is having only a few temples dedicated to him. His separate shrine can be found in most of the Shiva temples. In ancient times, for the purpose of getting boons from him, most of the sages and demons had prayed to Lord Brahma. We can also pray to Lord Brahma regularly, since he is the creator god, and he is the divine father and mother for us.

Brahma Ashtakam is a famous stotram dedicated to Lord Brahma, and those who recite this stotra would get all kinds of prosperity in their lives. This famous Stotra of Brahma was composed by the demi gods in the heaven, and it was learned by Rishi Sutha from them, and these details can be found in the Skanda Purana.

The contents present in this famous stotram are          as follows:

Oh my Lord Brahma, you are the father of wisdom,

and I offer my humble Salutations to Lord Brahma who has four faces, and who keeps the four Vedas in his hands.

Oh Lord Brahma, who are the mighty son of Lord Vishnu, and you are born from the naval of Vishnu, and you contains innumerable powers within you.

Oh the great Lord Brahma, you are only putting the fate on our heads, and you are the one who is destroying our sins and problems in our life,

and I offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh God though you don’t have much temples in this earth, we would worship you in our heart, and please be with us in our souls throughout our lives.


You are the Chief Devas among all other devas, and you are worshipped by the Sun and the Moon and by all other Demi gods and Demons, and I offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh My Dear Lord, you are the form of the Vedas, and you are the treasure of knowledge, and I

offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh My Beloved Lord Brahma, you are the creator of all the rules and regulations for the humans and you are our ancient forefather, and by worshipping you, we would be able to please the souls of our ancestors.


Oh my great Lord Brahma, you are the one who relieves our body and mental pain,

and you destroys the sadness of the living beings in the earth, and I offer my humble salutations to you.

On my beloved God, you are giving peacefulness and happiness in the minds of the people, and make them to shine in their lives, and I offer my humble salutations to you. 

Oh my great Lord, you contain the features of Lord Vishnu and Shiva, and you contains powers equivalent to them, and I offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh the creator Lord, you are excellently discharging your creation work, and all of your creations are wonderful and marvellous, and I offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh my Lord, you are the father of the great Lord Daksha Bhagavan, Rishi Narada, Sanath Kumaras, and the pious Lord Sangukarna Deva. All of your sons are very noble and soft natured Devas similar to you, and I offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh my Lord you always involve in deep penance, please give us good qualities and please guide us throughout our life and I offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh the holy consort of Ma Saraswati, please fill up our mind with full of joy, and make us to always think about you, and please change the bad fate of the sufferers, and make them also to smile in their lives and I offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh, you are the one who removes the bad habits from the humans like lust, anger and fear, and inculcates Bhakti in their minds, and I offer my humble salutations to you.

Oh My Lord, Please give all kinds of pleasures to those who pray to you, and I offer my humble salutations to you.
