INTRODUCTION
There
is a wonderful temple for Sri Anjaneyar, and it is situated on
Pudupakkam village, on the fast developing Kelambakkam- Vandalur
road. For reaching the temple, we have to climb for about 100 steps,
and this temple provides a good natural scenic view, apart from the
great divinity offered by our Veera Anjaneyar. We can see the
gigantic statue of Lord Anjaneyar who looks very brave and handsome,
and he steals the souls of his devotees through his pleasant and
pleasing appearance.
The temple is located in a small hill, and we can also find several trees and beautiful plants which are surrounded nearby the temple, and it provides additional attraction to this ancient Anjaneyar Temple. The temple is considered as one of the famous temples of Lord Anjaneyar, and this temple would be heavily crowded especially during Saturdays and on other festival days. Those who visit Lord Anjaneyar at this temple would get good courage, wisdom and knowledge.
As per legend, while Anjaneyar was carrying the Sanjeevi Mountain, he has stayed for some time at the present day Pudupakkam Temple, in order to relax himself to get rid from his tiredness.
The temple contains a 6 foot idol of Sri Anjaneyar, and apart from him, we can also see few other deities presented inside the temple, like Sri Rama, Sita Devi, and Lakshmana. This temple was built by the great Madhva saint Sri Vyasatirtha (Previous birth of Guru Raghavendra), who has also built few hundred temples for Lord Anjaneyar at various locations in India.
Adorning of butter, also known as Vennai Kappu- is considered as a famous act to please Lord Anjaneyar, and devotees would also offer beetle leaves garlands to Sri Anjaneyar at this Temple.
The temple is related with Sri Nitya Kalyana Perumal Temple in Thiruvidanthai, and during festival occasions, few puja things would be carried out in procession from Sri Anjaneyar Temple to Sri Nitya Kalyana Perumal Temple.
Devotees used to worship Lord Hanuman at this temple in order to get relieved from evil spirits, black magic problems, enmity problems, and we could get relieved from all sorts of obstacles in our life. Parents can bring their special child to this temple, in order to get a miraculous recovery after having the darshan of our great Lord Hanuman.Hanuman Jayanthi and Sri Rama Navami are the two main festivals celebrated at this temple.

Evening: 05.00 pm - 08.00 pm
Few months back, I have also visited this nice temple, and I felt very happy towards spending some valuable time at this temple.
