Vishwaroopa Balamurugan Temple is located in Thandalam near Sriperumbudur in Kanchipuram district. Lord Vishwaroopa Balamurugan is 40 feet tall and weighs 180 tons of a single stone. Milk Abhishekam was performed on the occasion of the annual Varshabishekam of the temple. In the presence of Ratnagiri Balamurugan Adimai Swamigal, 108 women came carrying milk pots and performed milk abishek to Lord Muruga. Earlier, special pujas were held. After this, milk abishek was performed to the 40 feet idol of Vishwaroopa Balamurugan Swamy. The committee had planned to perform 1008 litres of milk abhishekam. But the devotees also had about 2,000 litres of milk to bring their share of milk. The 40 feet huge idol was anointed with milk and it was like spilling milk in a waterfall. A large number of devotees participated in the procession and chanted Arohara.
Lord Muruga had taken the Viswaroopa form for so many times! Even during the time of his birth, he stood as a gigantic god before his foster mother goddesses and the star goddesses, who are also known as Karthigai Pengal in Tamil. Next when the Devas, including Lord Devendra were doubted about his supremacy, then also he has revealed his true divine form also known as Viswaroopa form! After getting married with his consorts, Ma Valli and Ma Devasena, as per their request, he has again taken his full divine form and showed his super natural powers before his divine wives. And once again, before his staunch devotees, Agastiya, Idumba, Arunagiri Swamigal, Avvaiyar and Pamban Swamigal, he has shown his full form.
In one old Tamil song, a famous actor used to visit the entire six abodes of Lord Muruga, and sung about the supremacy of god. Daily I used to hear that song during night time.
The important piece of news is that the Hindu Religious Charities Dept has decided to take 200 senior citizens or elders on a spiritual tour to the Arupadai Veedu of Lord Murugan on 28th of January 2024. This would be in the first phase. For this spiritual tour, senior citizens above the age of 60 can apply. The department of Hindu Religious Charities has taken a new initiative of organising darshan at Arupadai veedu of Lord Murugan for 200 senior citizens (between age 60 and 70) as the senior citizens have been finding it difficult to visit Arupadai veedugal like Thiruparangundram, Thiruchendur, Palani, Swamimalai, Tiruttani and Pazhamudircholai. In other words, the Hindu Religious Charities are trying to take the 200 senior citizens to these 6 Lord Murugan temples free of cost for 5 times that is a total of 1000 devotees.
Murugan devotees once they reach their beloved Murugan temple, would loudly raise their voice, by reciting the word, “MURUGANUKKU AROHARA”, which means, I pay my humble respect to Lord Muruga. There are also few Tamil bhakti Films produced in praise of Lord Muruga, before several years ago, such as Kandan Karunai(Merciful Lord Muruga), Murugan Adimai(Slave to Lord Muruga), Varuvaan Vadivelan(Lord Muruga will come soon), Velum Mayilum Thunai(Murugan’s Divine Spear and Divine Peacock will protect us), Velundu Vinaiyillai( Murugan’s Divine Spear will destroy our sins into ashes).
Hence let us watch the YouTube Videos related to Lord Muruga, and also visit his shrines as much as possible, in order to destroy our badness, and to enter into the “MURUGAN BHAKTI PATH”.
